Our Mission
Our Mission is to provide HOPE for people affected by extreme poverty.
We focus on providing the Gospel of Jesus Christ first and foremost along with hunger relief, heat, educational resources, and advocacy to those affected by poverty.
We do this through financial support, education, and community involvement. Over 40 million people are living below poverty as of 2023.
Through your donations, we provide help to our communities. We are changing lives one person at a time.
Our Impact
Sub-zero Sleeping Bags
We are purchasing sub-zero sleeping bags to help the homeless get through the harsh winter here in upstate NY. These sleeping bags are rated for temperatures of -25 degrees!
Food distribution
We collect non-perishable food items to distribute to the homeless. For many, this may be the only meal they’ve had in a while.
Water
Dehydration is a common problem with the homeless and it causes many health issues to add to the layers of cascaded issues they already have. We provide drinking water bottles to as many as we can reach.
Housing
Through your support, we are looking to purchase multiple buildings/houses where we can provide homes for the homeless.

History of Mantis Foundation
”“Everyone has thoughts, ideas, or visions to do something that impacts the world. Until those concepts are put into action, what good are they? How will one actually accomplish these goals unless it is acted upon?”
WHY SHOULD WE HELP THE POOR AND HOMELESS?
Poverty runs rampant in our community. As Christians, what can we do to care for our impoverished brothers and sisters? We should start by looking at the Bible and what God says about the poor and homeless.
LEVITICUS 19:9-10
“‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigners. I am the Lord your God.’”
PROVERBS 29:7
“The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.”
1SAMUEL 2:8
“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. ‘For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them he has set the world.’”
JOB 5:15-17
“He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth; he saves them from the clutches of the powerful. So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.”
PROVERBS 21:13
“Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry out and not be answered.”
PROVERBS 22:9
“The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.”
LUKE 11:41
“But now as for what is inside you—be generous to the poor, and everything will be clean for you.”
MATTHEW 25:40
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
It can be so easy to forget about the poor in our communities and the world at large. But, as Christians, we are invited to live with a deep consciousness of our brothers/sisters. Whether it is through our giving, our prayers, or our time, we are to care for the poor.
